Specialised in Closing Material Loops
Aperam Recycling operates a dedicated global network of scrap processing yards supporting Aperam’s circular economy. We trade, sort and process end-of-life stainless steel and manufacturing scrap into custom-blended, melt-ready secondary raw materials. By providing stainless steelmakers with reliable access to high-grade recycled stainless steel, we help reduce reliance on primary raw materials and associated emissions while supporting resilient supply chains and consistent quality for demanding industrial applications.
Deeply Rooted in Stainless
Aperam Recycling was founded in 1962 with a focus on stainless steel, a versatile material with strong circularity potential. Since then, we have continuously developed our know-how and processes to support resilient material supply chains.
We deliver tailor-made chrome-nickel scrap processed to meet specific physical and chemical requirements, with quantities and logistics adapted to customer needs. Materials can be delivered by rail, truck, barge or container. As an integral part of Aperam, we also contribute to production routes such as Aperam infinite™, which can achieve scrap ratios of up to 98%.

Stainless Steel Services
Scrap & Supplier Management
We help simplify the management of your industrial scrap. Through tailored off-take agreements, scheduled pickups and container logistics, we manage material flows from collection through processing, helping suppliers efficiently return their scrap to the value chain.
Custom Blending
Every melt shop has specific metallurgical charge requirements. Using our yard network and material inventory, we sort, blend and size stainless steel scrap according to furnace requirements, providing ready-to-melt charges with controlled physical and chemical characteristics.
In-House Lab Analysis
Our on-site laboratories use optical emission spectrometry (OES) and X-ray analysis to determine elemental composition, including nickel, chromium and molybdenum. This analysis supports accurate material identification, classification and valuation.
Quality Control
Quality and material purity are controlled throughout our process. From incoming inspection to final loading, our quality procedures help ensure that materials meet defined customer and industrial requirements.
Radioactivity Scan
Materials passing through our yards are subject to radiation monitoring procedures, supporting radiological safety and compliance before they re-enter the supply chain.
